Returns

Creative Stage Lighting accepts returns within 10 days of the delivery date.

All returns must first be issued a Return Authorization (RA) number by Creative Stage Lighting (CSL). The RA number must be clearly displayed on the return packaging.

  • Returns must be initiated within 10 days of delivery and received by CSL within ten (10) working days of the return authorization date.
  • All returns must be prepaid and include a letter indicating the reason for return and the original invoice number.
  • All returns are subject to a restocking fee.
  • Returns that do not meet these conditions may be refused.

CSL cannot accept returns for:

  • Custom cable assemblies
  • Custom road cases
  • Customized hoists or motor control systems

Limited Warranty

Creative Stage Lighting warrants that each Product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship that prevent it from operating according to the published specifications. If a Product fails to operate as warranted, CSL will provide a replacement subject to the terms and conditions below.

Warranty Terms and Conditions

  • This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
  • If a Product is returned within the warranty period and CSL determines it is defective, CSL may, at its option:
    • Repair the Product,
    • Replace the Product or the defective part, or
    • Reimburse the purchaser for the purchase price.
  • Warranty service does not include removal, reinstallation, or labor costs.
  • If the Product has been discontinued or is unavailable, CSL may replace it with a comparable product.
  • The warranty is valid only when the product has been properly wired, installed, and operated within its specified electrical and environmental conditions.

This warranty does not apply to damage or failure resulting from:

  • Acts of God, abuse, misuse, abnormal use, or use contrary to instructions or standards (NEC, UL, ETL, ANSI, CSA, etc.)
  • Unauthorized repairs or alterations

Third-Party Warranties

For products sold by CSL but not manufactured by CSL, no warranty is made by CSL. Upon request, CSL will make available the original manufacturer’s warranty to the extent permitted by law.

No Implied Warranties

The warranties stated herein are the only warranties provided by CSL. All other warranties, express or implied (including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose), are disclaimed. CSL’s sole obligation and the purchaser’s exclusive remedy for any defect or nonconformity are limited to repair, replacement, or reimbursement as described above.

No employee, agent, or representative of CSL is authorized to modify or extend these warranties.

Warranty for Exclusive Products

Brands covered: VMB, JB-Lighting, and other CSL exclusive products.

These products are warranted against failure in normal use, when properly installed and operated according to manufacturer instructions. Damage due to abuse, moisture, temperature extremes, or misapplication is not covered.

Additional conditions:

  • Products with altered or removed serial numbers are not covered.
  • Warranty does not cover installation or removal costs, or consequential damages.
  • CSL’s sole obligation is, at its option, to repair or replace any defective product or component.
  • Customers are responsible for shipping costs to the CSL repair center in North Creek, NY.
  • If a customer is qualified to perform repairs, CSL may send parts for on-site repair; defective parts must be returned within 30 days for credit.

Non-warranty repairs are billed at $90 per hour upon customer approval.

Loaner equipment: CSL may provide loaner gear while repairs are in process. Customers must return the defective unit within one week of receiving the loaner, and return the loaner within one week after the repaired product is received. Late returns may incur rental fees. All freight for loaner equipment is the customer’s responsibility.

Warranty duration (from invoice date):

  • JB-Lighting: 12 months
  • Dura-Flex and Dura-Flex Assemblies: 24 months
  • Entertainment Power Systems: 12 months
  • VMB: 24 months

Used Gear Warranty

Used gear purchased from CSL is covered by a 30-day parts warranty.

  • Glass gobos and dichroic filters are not guaranteed against breakage or scratches.
  • To initiate a warranty claim, please provide your invoice number and purchase date for verification.

Service & Repairs Warranty

Service and repairs performed by CSL are covered by a 60-day labor warranty.

Limitation of Liability

In lieu of any warranty, condition, or liability implied by law, CSL’s liability for defects or failure is limited to repair or replacement of defective goods.

All defective parts must be returned at the buyer’s expense. Labor costs for re-installation are chargeable to the buyer. For goods not manufactured by CSL, warranty coverage is limited to the original manufacturer’s guarantee.
