About Us

Creative Stage Lighting Co., Inc. (CSL) is a family-owned supplier of professional stage, theatrical, architectural and entertainment lighting equipment, based in North Creek, New York, in the Adirondack Mountains. Since 1977, lighting professionals, venues and dealers across the country have relied on us for the right gear, delivered on time, from people who know the industry.

Our History

George B. Studnicky III founded CSL on May 2, 1977, in Mount Arlington, New Jersey. George had worked as a spotlight operator and crew chief, and he started CSL as a dependable local source for the gel, tape, connectors and lamps working professionals needed every day. The business grew quickly into touring support and mail order.

In 1981, CSL moved to North Creek, New York, and shifted its focus to wholesale distribution, supplying dealers nationwide. In 1994, the company expanded its North Creek facility with a major building addition, creating the headquarters and warehouse we operate from today. CSL has been run by the Studnicky family from the beginning, and today George's daughter, Theresa Studnicky, leads the company.
