Creative Stage Lighting is a manufacturer, wholesale supplier, and distributor of a broad range of products for the stage and theatrical lighting professional, including lighting fixtures, consoles, lamps, filters, cables, and a wide variety of other lighting and electrical accessories. We have an extensive dealer network throughout North America and internationally.

Our exclusive lines include Dura-Flex™ cable and assemblies, Entertainment Power Systems™ power distribution and connectors, Suspension Solutions™ rigging hardware, and Entertainment Industry Tape™.

We are happy to refer end users to a dealer in their area.

We also provide rental and production services and stock a substantial rental inventory. Whether it is a lighting console, moving lights, fixtures, or virtually any other need you may have for a show or an entire tour we can provide it. Clients have included Third Day, Meatloaf, Transworld, Phish and Jesse McCartney . Major events have included FOX Upfront, the Empire State Games, and Stars on Ice. Creative Stage Lighting is a member of the Warren County Economic Development Corporation.

CSL was the first to take the initiative in meeting RoHS standards with Dura-Flex™ cables; not only to meet RoHS standards but also to produce a cable that we are proud to stand behind. In order to maintain our own high level of standards we also manufacture our own line of tapes , power distribution systems, and rigging hardware.

1977

CSL opens in Mount Arlington, NJ, May 1977. First gigs include Fandango, The Cast of Beatlemania, Harry Chapin, and the Good Rats.

1978

CSL hires its first full time employee. Had Altman produce unpainted aluminum PAR 64 fixtures. We used diesel locomotive headlights wired in series circuit instead of ACL lamps. Also provided lighting services with U.F.O, David Brenner, Jay and The Americans and the Pure Prairie League.

1979

Toured with Pat Metheny Group and Arlo Guthrie.

1980

Introduced Northern Case Road and Flight Transportation Cases. Toured with Frank Zappa and Livingston Taylor. Incorporated in NJ.

1981

CSL relocates to North Creek, NY in a 2,500 square foot building and shifts from retail, rentals and show services to lighting services, wholesale sales and manufacturing. Became Rainbo Products' (now known as CAE) first lighting representative and establishes their dealer network in NY, NJ, PA and New England.

1982

Toured with The Plasmatics.

1983

Became a Rosco Dealer and introduced them to wholesale distribution. Began manufacturing Truss. Provided lighting services for Cyndi Lauper and Joe Jackson.

1984

Toured with Spyro Gyra. Introduced the CSL Par 64 and Par 56 Ray Lite mirrors.

1985

Added Harper Images and Northern Lights Dimming and Control to product lines being represented.

1982-1986

Went on tour with Julio Iglesias, Paul Anka, the Ramones and John Denver. Exhibited at USITT for the first time. Worked with Altman to produce PAR 64 to PAR 56 adapter rings and were the first to create Red Flash powder.

1987

Lit shows for Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, Aerosmith, and Tom Jones. Toured with John Denver and the Fixx Walkabout tour. CSL bought its first fax machine.

1988

Lit a Joe Clark show. Toured with Hot Tuna, Debbie Gibson, John Denver, and Julio Iglesias.

1989

Toured with the Waylon World Tour, Julio Iglesias, and John Denver. First building addition.

1991

Lit shows for Greenpeace, MTV 10th Anniversary Special, and Dream Theater.

1993

Toured with Meat Loaf. Exhibited at LDI for the first time.

1994

Moved into our current building at 32,000 square feet. Did shows for Stars on Ice, The Bethel Woodstock Reunion. Continued touring with Meat Loaf.

1995

Toured with Meat Loaf. Lit shows for ABC’s Skates of Gold, Stars on Ice, and the Tribute To Yitzhak Rabin at MSG.

1996

Did shows for Rod Stewart, Stars on Ice, Celebration of Life- Tribute to Sergei Grinkov.

1987-1996

Did shows REO Speedwagon, Beach Boys, Paul Anka, The Alarm, Joan Jett, Living Color, Diana Ross, Cinderella, David Bowie and Tin Machine, Anita Baker.

1997

CSL 20th Anniversary featured in Lighting Dimensions article "The Master Dealer: Creative Stage Lighting Builds On A Network Of Relationships" by David Barbour. Helped design and introduce the all black Hubbell Edison connector.

1998

Introduced Dura-Flex cable and assemblies at LDI. Did shows for Iron Maiden's Virtual XI World Tour.

1999

Introduced Entertainment Power Systems power distribution racks.

2000

Introduced EIT Entertainment Industry Tape and Suspension Solutions rigging hardware. Back on the road with Meat Loaf.

2001

Introduced the EPS SP-20 stage-pin connector. Became sponsor of the Lake George Youtheatre.

2002

Introduced the Tech Alert Communication Beacon. Lit Ice Wars 2002: USA vs. The World, and the Empire State Winter Games. Celebrated our 25th Anniversary.

2003

Introduced the Altman Spectra LED fixtures. Toured with Burn The Floor, Dame Edna, Phish and Trey Anastasio. Provided lighting equipment and services for Transworld Annual Conference and the Empire State Winter Games.

2004

Introduced CSL PAR Fixtures. Provided lighting equipment and services for the Empire State Winter Games and Transworld Annual Conference. Cained RoHS compliance for all Dura-Flex cables.

2005

SP-20 Stage Pin connector awarded a design patent. Introduced new and Improved Entertainment Industry Tape. Provided lighting services and equipment for Ice Wars 2005: Battle of The Sexes, Transworld Annual Conference, Jesse McCartney, and the Empire State Winter Games. Toured with Celtic Woman, Empire State Winter Games and Jesse McCartney.

2006

Introduced Wireless Solutions W-DMX and Color Kinetics fixtures. Added Industrial Sales Division. Joined USITT. Provided lighting services and equipment for moe., Major League Gaming, Empire State Winter Games, Ice Wars, Cheetah Girls, and Transworld Annual Conference. Toured with Celtic Woman, Jesse McCartney, Meat Loaf, Zappa Plays Zappa, and Third Day.

2007

We added two more divisions to our Dealer Sales department. Introduced the Swiveler. CSL featured on the cover of Tour Guide Journal: Vol. 10, Issue 11. Toured with Maroon 5, Meat Loaf, Celtic Woman, Adult Swim Presents, Zappa Plays Zappa, and Dane Cook. Provided lighting services and equipment for Transworld Annual Conference, the Empire State Winter Games, and more.

2008

Toured with Jill Scott, Maroon 5, and The High Kings. Built one of the largest rental inventories of HES SHOWGUN in North America. Introduced Dura-Flex Cat5E cable. Started the CSL Webinar series.
